Yup, you guessed it! More oddities with my week old 99SE-L

Hey,
I would first like to say that you guys have been a GREAT help with my journey into Maximaland. My girlfriend noticed something tonight when I got out of the car to go use the ATM. Whenever I get out, she always locks the doors for safety. Now, on the passanger side front door, when she used the **** to lock the door, all the doors locked... Then when I came back to the car, and she went to let me in, the doors would not unlock from the passanger side ****. So basically, they automaticly locked from the passanger side, but did not automatically unlcok when she fliped the **** in the open position. I do hear some sort of relay though when I flip the passenger side door to unlock in the other doors ( but they don't open) I can't understand how there is no little key button, like i have on the drivers door, on the passenger side door, to open up /lock all doors. Hell, even my accord has this. Is there something we are doing wrong?
Thanks again for all those who have answered my tedious questions

Nope, this is how they are. At least this is how mine is (was). The only way to unlock ALL the doors is to use the remote or the driver's door.

Sounds like they'd still have the key in the ignition.

Whenever I get out, she always locks the doors for safety.
I suppose you could wire another all-unlock switch up As is now, I think the easiest way w/o taking the key out would be to reach over and use the fob while it's dangling. Either that or make the wife wait in silence & turn the car off, take the key out, etc.

It's a rule in my car that the front passenger shan't make any effort to lock doors. My friends that have cars w/manual locks never remember though, and always lock me in before I can get out. I let the almighty fob handle all my locking & unlocking.

It is true that locking the passenger side door from the inside will lock all the doors. But unlocking the passenger door from the inside will not unlock all the doors. Its normal, and I know Toyotas are this way too. The power lock switch is on the drivers side.
