Aftermarket headlights

I bought some headlights the other day and they draw 100/80 watts. I know that is higher than the stock wattage so new harnesses are recommended. I went and looked at the aftermarket harness but I don't quite understand how it will help from being fried. It is a thicker wire but it is only about 8in long from the harness and then its spliced into the skinny, stock wire. Won't it still overheat because the harness isn't the same gauge the entire way through? Thanks for any advice about electricity

You will need to run a separate relay to supply power to it as well... Sometime you burn the switch in addition to the harnesses.

The high wattage bulbs began to melt on of my sockets. I bought a set of Nokya aftermarket harnesses on Ebay and spliced and soldered them into the existing headlight wire harness. The headlights each have a 15amp factory relay which is more than adequate even if you drove with your highbeams on all the time. I have yet to see a problem. Monday night in the storm, I drove with my highbeams (100Watt) on for over an hour straight. And no, I didnt blind anyone, I was the only loser on the road. The headlight sockets and everything else are perfect.
