Brullen y, cat, resonated catback = :D

Just got it done today. I love the sound of it. Not too loud, no raspy metallic noises, nice and deep. Haven't had a chance to really push the car yet, I had the old exhaust in my interior wrapped in plastic and didn't want it punching a hole in my leather. The entire thing is in T-304, and took about a day to have done. They build to order.

Check here for pics and vids.

They are actually an exhaust manufacturer. They do mufflers, resonators, tips, and even a couple cat-backs. Just branching into the Maxima scene lately.

do you know if they can make a y pipe to bypass remaining precats on cali spec cars?

I believe all 4th gens have precats, and I don't know an aftermarket y that uses precats.

Honestly, I haven't even had a chance to really push it yet, so I don't really know if the gains are that good. Initial buttdynanometer tells me it's faster (found myself hitting speeds quicker than normal), but not definitively enough to swear good gains.

But if all it did was give the sweet sound, that would be pretty good too. Sounds just awesome. You guys should be able to hear it from the vid on that link. That was taken from the driver seat with all the windows up.

Could be that the ecu needs time to adjust to the new y pipe. Resetting the ecu might help it learn faster, and you'll need to floor it in every gear in order for the ecu to learn the new fuel maps (or something along those lines...I'm sure u already knew this, but just to let you know if u didn't).

Yah, I know about it, just no time to do it right now. I'll probably do it sometime tomorrow. Heck the stock exhaust is still IN the car wrapped in plastic man.

yes all max's have precats, but cali spec has 2 precats, so after a y pipe there is one still remaining unlike fed spec max's....is what i was asking

So cali spec's have 4 cats? I have a pre cat on each of the two y portions, then a larger cat. Cali spec's have one more? I had no idea.

I don't want to talk price because the shop guy asked me not too. All piping starting from where the y's come together is 2.5".

Just call them and ask for Richard. Just tell him you heard about my exhaust, and you are interested in pricing.

Also, here's another place where you can view the vids.

All 4th gen's have two stock pre-cats. 99 Cali spec Max's have a pre-cat for the front bank of cylinders attached to the manifold itself. When you replace the y-pipe with an aftermarket pipe, you are only removing the pre-cat from the rear cylinder bank. 95-98 and 99 fed-spec 4th gens have both pre-cats (one for each bank of cylinders) in the stock y-pipe.

If the cali specs have one of the precats as part of the manifold, I think you'll have to have the manifold redone to get rid of it won't you? Sorry guys, I know VERY little about the cali spec Maximas. All I can say is, call Richard at Brullen.

How much did it cost you including installation? Did they put it on while you wait or did you leave them your car? How long did it take? Did the Y pipe need to be mod. to fit in you ride?

FYI, I have a 94 se.

Thanks.

Again, I was asked not to mention pricing. Please contact them yourself. I dropped the car off in the morning, and it was done in the evening. They do it from scratch, of it takes longer than say Budget. As for the y pipe, again, it was made from scratch.

Someone else already asked this. Call them. Ask for Richard Garcia, tell them you heard from Sin, he'll know you're Maximist by then.

Are they mass producing these? Or did they just do this for you as a one time custom job?

Dave got one done there a couple months ago, and posted in the Canada forum. He was the first to have a Maxima done by them. He had a y and a catback done. They have since changed the design of the y for my car. They are more than able to mass produce these, but will logically not unless there is demand. If there is enough interest, I'm sure he'll be more than willing to make a bunch of them.

Yah man, I LOVE the sound of my car now. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the performance increase too. Absolutely perfect for me. Not too loud, no raspyness, no metallic noises, no bees in the can, heck, not even y hiss.

BTW, I've opened up another site for you guys to download pics and vids of the exhaust. All three sites have varying files, but all three have the same two vids that have audio, it's just the pics that vary.
