cali spec budget y question

I was looking at this y-pipe and have a question. If this one removes both precats will it pass emissions? How bout the CEL, will it come on?

Re: cali spec budget y question

From what I have read here on the org. it will pass. I looked into this before I bought my WSP y-pipe. You have to drive it for 30 minutes or so on the freeway before you take it to the smog station, this way the main cat is nice and hot. When you go test it just leave your car on and make sure that you can get it right in. The precats are there because it takes a little bit for the main cat to get hot, so they pick up the slack. As far as the CEL, you should have no problems there unless you brake one of the 02 sensors. I have had my y-pipe for a couple of months. I am very happy with it. I just replaced my fuel filter and bad knock sensor last week. Now I can truly appreciate it.
