PCV Valve Replacement

PCV Valve Replacement
I replaced my PCV today (1st time ever) and it took all of 15 minutes. I thought I would share my experience with some of you having problems replacing yours.
1st -- remove the hex holding the steel tubing that holds the vacuum hose above the PCV valve in place. I don't know how anyone can possibly replace their PCV without doing this important step.
2nd -- Use YOUR PLIERS to pull that sucker up while using a chisel or a flat screwdriver to pry the PCV valve out of its hole.
3rd -- when you finally get that puppy out of there, take your pliers and pull & twist the PCV valve out of the short vacuum hose (put some muscle into it). (Note: There is a black washer like thingy that you need to make sure you leave between the new PCV valve and the engine hole -- make sure you don't accidentally knock this into the hole).
4th -- when you finally get the OLD pcv valve out of the hose, take your new one and twist & push it into the vacuum hose. Once it is nice & secure, then (and only then) attempt to place the base of the PCV valve back into the engine hole (and through that black washer). Just twist with all your might and it will slip right back in.
5 -- Don't forget to re-secure the steel tubing --- You're all done..
I replaced my PCV with one that I purchased from Autozone.
Hope this helps anyone who is attempting to replace their PCV.

One word to the wise...
On older Max's (mine is a 95) be VERY careful prying that rubber hose out, i muscled mine and cracked the bastard and ended up having to replace it (starting to dry rot I assume before i removed the PCV).
