Hello guys.
I just took apart the stater to clean and regrease, but I don't know how to regrease the starter.
I don't wanna mess up on this because I don't have any money to spare for a new starter.
I've searched the forum but wasn't really sure how to apply the grease.
Do I need the disassemble the whole starter down to the last piece to clean and regrease?
Where to put the grease and anything to watch out for?

I've already used that site as a guide for this repair.
The site is awesome with good pictures, however I need some more details like how much and specific area to apply the grease...

This is a reply I made to someone who had
the same question. Namely: Where to put the
grease and how much.

"Yeah, I just did my starter. The FSM indicates high temp grease
on the planetary gear assembly as well as the shaft the pinion gear
slides on (both spiral and smooth parts), the ends of the plastic fork piece where it touches other parts and the solenoid plunger.
I would think the shaft, fork and plunger would be the place to use the grease sparingly. Use just enough so that it doesn't build up
on edges of the moving parts."

As to how far to disassemble the starter, take everything apart
except the back end of the starter (where the commutator and
brushes are).

hey sup guys well i got my starer apart, and i am about to regrease it but.......... i kinda need some help putting it back together again hehehhehe i think i got the gears right and how the planetary assembly sits, but im kinda lost on the plastic fork looking thing and its metal ring?????

Just note how it's supposed to work. The solenoid plunger
is pulled into the solenoid body and pulls on the end of the
fork. The other end of the fork pushes on the stuff that
slides on the main shaft. The metal ring is the part that
the fork pivots on. So, the ends of the ring fit in the
plastic base and the middle of the fork sits on top. The
fork will be pushing the ring towards/into the plastic
base when the starter is energized.
