my first mod....

I just installed a K&N style cone filter using a bolt on bracket from a local speed shop. I am pleased that it doesn't start barking until you let into it. Once I opened up the throttle a bit..WHAM!

However, when I am doing normal driving around town and freeways I keep it under 3k and have noticed the car seems to run a little cooler and has improves my mileeage almost 2mpg's..that's awesome!

should I be waiting for a problem? Are there any side effects from an HAI system? Someone out there let me know PLEASE!

Yes Yes I have the Mod Bug!

I still want to know if the HAI setup will have any negative consequences to my engine..will it burn it up? Can I expect ignition problems or anything?

No problems at all. Your engine is thanking you for it so enjoy it.

EDIT- However, the only thing you need to wach out for is when you clean and re-oil the K&N, make shure to NOT over oil it or you will have some MAF sensor problems because of excess oil......thats about it

I started mods just last summer and I'm up over $3000 in mods since! It's an obsession! I wish I had one million dollars!

did you smoke some of the silly stuff?

uhh no, your computer will not give you any CELs, no reason to. Yes, its better...it can breathe easier. And the only way your car will talk to you is if his name is Kit and its a black trans-am

Don't know if you have an auto trans or manual, but there is a little lag under 3000 with an automatic. My 2 cents
