TCS System problems, I think...

I have a 99 maxima SE Limited.
I am getting a check engine light that stays on. intermittently the "TCS OFF" light and the "slip" light come on simultaneously during normal driving. When the TCS light comes on, sometimes with it, the engine will run really rough. If I shut off the car and turn it back the problem usually goes away.

I took it to the mechanic and he said error code came up as the ignition switch. He checked the ignition switch and it was ok.

If anyone has had a similar problem or if you think you may know what this is, any help would be great.
thanks

Check this thread http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....readid=194925. I believe that the code your mechanic got was ignition SIGNAL not switch. Usually another code will tell you which cylinder is misfiring. Could likely ne a bad coil, or sparkplug.
