How to make the gold shine again

well my gold lettering has started to fade. I notice this on alot of 90ish cars with gold lettering. But the things is some of them look like new....what are they doing that i am not. I don't want to try that has seen on tv stuff that is supose to instantly golden anything because i have heard if sucks so if you have any other ideas please tell me

I don't know what would make them shiny, but I just need to state my opinion, and that is I think the trunk lid doesn't look good at all shaved, call me crazy but that's just me. My gold is also starting to fade, so I think I'm just going to let it be, then it'll be silver.

I dont like the gold ,but

if you do you can look in the phone book and find a place that can replate the badges right on the car ,you can also check with nicer used car lots they have ppl who can do it.
