Need to oil APC filter?

DO I need to oil the APC filter before I use it???? I heard some people use wd-40... does this work?

I think they come pre-oiled. If it doesn't seem to be I wouldn't use WD-40, go buy a K&N cleaning kit and use the oil in there.

somebody said it didnt, do i even need to oil it? its 19.99 but i wanna save cash in the long run!

I didn't oil mine at first. I just cleaned it and oiled it using the K&N filter cleaner/recharging kit, after about 5000 miles.

They do need to be oiled, the oil is what traps the dirt not the cotton element. The recharge kit is 10-12 bucks I think, don't skimp on it.
