hey all, I hope someone will at least reply to this post as nobocy did the last time I posted. I had the air bag replaced at the dealer when the car was prepped fro delivery last month. 99 SEL. The cover rattles and ticks like crazy and the dealer says I am not covered for sqeaks and rattles. And I'm like- but YOU guys put the air bag in! They are not willing to help me out. So, I noticed that the left side of the cover is able to be pryed up about a quater inch while the right is not- Is there supposed to be play in the air bag cover or is it supposed to be tight, like the rest of the dashboard?- because if there is not supposed to be any play, I have grounds to return to the dealer and demand that it be put on correctly. PLEASE Help! Teh noise is driving me insane, as well as my paranoid girlfried who thinks the air bag is gonna go off in her face! LOL I don't think that there should be any range of movement at all, at least when pushed with a finger. Please- thoughts, tips, advice?

 

I don't know what the hell the problem is, but you can take it back to them. They have to fix it. Be assertive, demanding, calm, and tell them the facts. They did the work, they are responsible for it. Sqeeks or whatever are due to some sort of mistake, which probably has to do with the looseness. Either way Fu(k them.
