Ok 225/60/15 or 215/60/15

I will need new tires shortly....I have the stock rims (15x6.5) with Dunlop SP5000 225/60/15. Nice tire be didn't live that long. So do I get the A2(getting great reviews) in 215/60/15 (SE OE size) or stay with the 225/60/15?

Neither. OEM is 215/55/16, not 215/60

I would go w/ 215/55/16 or 225/50/16. I went w/ the 225/50 myself.

SORRY, my mistake, I thought that you were talking 16's. I would get the 215/60/15s for the SP Sport A2s...

Yes, but the 215s give a more square profile.

OK so is it better to have a square footprint with the 215/60/15 or more contact area with the 225/60/15

With the proper inflation the 215 will get just as much contact on the road, if not more. The 225s could have a tendency to bow out, pulling the tread at the edge of the tire off of the pavement unless you underinflat them. Either underinflated or overinflated, you will get more uneven wear. I had 215s on my OEM GLE rims and they had a nice square contact patch.
