Absolutely nothing like an Accord. I feel like reiterating this again:

Accord:
-Dual mufflers at extreme ends of bumper
-Puny tips
-Not like Camaro style setup at all
-No bumper cutouts (to my knowledge)

Camaro Maximas:
-Single muffler
-Nice sized tips
-Almost identical to camaro style setup
-Bumper cutouts
I am have 3.5 x 6 too but I will have to change them soon. When i was doing the duals I went cheap and didnt get stainless steel tips and now these have a bit of rust spoting on them. I am thinking about getting the reversed cone tips.

Ditto. But my chrome tips have no rust and look as shiny/shinier then my friend's impala ss with stainless tips. The only thing, there's a bunch of **** on the outer edges of the tips. Like the waste from my exhaust builds up and stains the rims of the tips. Do you have this? What can I do to get it off without damaging the chrome?

What are those?

I kinda like those more than i like singles, but i think they only look good with a body kit. And thats one hell of a kit you've got there. I guess i'll go with dual mufflers then. I really like the muffler i've got now but its only 2.5 so i'll probably have to get 2 new ones.

yeah I got that too, its just build up from the exhaust. The reverse cones are what stillen usually uses on their exhausts, just a different style

AgaricX... do you have any more info on your in-car PC? Specifically, what software are you using? If you wouldn't mind, drop me an email or PM if you don't want to post it all on this thread.

Do you also get more steam out of the tips then normal cars? When it seems other cars have warmed up, and have stopped steaming, exhaust still pours outta my exhaust. (out BOTH pipes btw ) It's only when I get on the freeway that they stop. Do you get this too? I'm thinking becuase of the free-er flowage of the exhaust.

Also, do you have any pics of those tips? What are their dimensions? I've been looking to change if the size price was right.

Yup. Either get a Camaro Flowmasters 80-series like me, or get a WS6 turbo muffler like Kashaggio (which is quieter I believe) and sit it in the normal muffler spot. The muffler is soo thin that it cannot be seen, especially with any kind of body kit. Then hook a pipe to the muffler's other outlet and run it around the tire well. It's really easy to do and will look very clean.

so would you consider your set up to be more a show/fake pipe setup than duals? when i think of duals, its either two pipes coming back from the headers or even a single that spilts right after the y-pipe. but your set up looks as if you just put in a different muffler with a second outlet and ran it around the spare tire well. kind of a "cheater" dual set up. my old maxima had the camaro style duals and it seems to be more of a "dual setup" than yours... oh, and this is not intended to be a flame of any sort, i'm just a curious spectator.

No, it's a dual setup... It's pretty rare to have 2 separate pipes coming from the headers... especially on imports.

Look at Fbodies, Jbodies etc...

Craig, yeah i get the steam too but it looks cool

and who cares if the set up is fake or real It has two pipes its a real dual, for it to be fake it would have one pipe and two tips. The Maxima does not need a dual setup from the headers

Yup. True duals are useless for our cars. Even 5.7L V8 F-bodies do what I do. I have a real pipe connected to a real muffler that is functional. It's not just a dummy pipe, it flows exhaust and probubly makes a difference over single conventional exhausts. My guess would be....+14fwtq @ 2000rpm with the extra piping.

But yea...it also adds more sound too.

your car looks very good - the exhaust looks stock! (meaning as if the car came like that from the factory - you did a great job!)

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but just becuase you have two mufflers doesn't mean you have true duals. TRUE duals are two seperate pipes coming directly from the two header banks. Mustang GT and Cobra's have them, which is why they benifit from H and X pipes.

Don't forgot to take underbody pics.

plus you need more o2 sensors for it to be a true dual exhaust

the pipes are split right after the catalytic convertor, and run str8 back. Whether you consider it true or not, the distribtuion of airflow is basically split even. The black box was bolted inside of the spare tire well, after knooking it in to fit the second muffler. I also drilled a hole for the out for the emissions. TO someones post, it is virtually impossible to do this w/o removing the charcoal canister and emissions and busting in the tire well unless your running a single pipe to the other side for the look. I also wanted the look to be there for the fact I didnt want my mufflers shoved up so they were hidden underneath, where pics will show they will be seen slightly. As far as performance, In my opinion I think it does give extra power when punched down, but I am unsure of how many extra HP. I went with magna flow over flowmaster, for a lower deeper sound that wasn't quite as loud as flowmaster. Though don't get me wrong both are great mufflers. The hole was cut with a knife, and I purchased black trim from pepboys to make it look flush. Not to sound conceited, but for any1 trying to do this I would suggest this setup, since I believe it turned out real well and it gives the max a different look.

Yup, that's me!

I'm also on DSMTuners.com for my (wife's) 99 Eclipse GST.

I haven't posted on Pennock's 'cause all the 'musclecar' guys would scream 'RICE'... when I can spank 'em on the quarter.
