Delay in MEVI butterly valves opening??
I have my harlan set at 5K but it does not seem to open till almost 5400K. The test was done with the car not underload. Do you think that makes a difference? Would it open differently when accelerating in gear. Maybe it's because when I rev it in nuetral the rpms climb so fast the switch is delayed a bit. What do you guys think??

Are you giving it full throttle in neutral? If so then yeah that would explain a delay because it is revving up so fast. Try setting it at 2000 and doing the neutral thing again, but slowly rev from like 1800-whenever it opens so you can tell.

Our tachs are definitely off to echo Dave's statement. Best way to test is by setting at low RPM setting and have the light on the switch visible to you from the cabin. Determine if light is coming on at set point.
Easier is to get a friend to help you as mahy people have their RPM switch in the engine bay.
By mounting mine in the cabin, I can test it to determine if the switch is getting the signal at the set RPM point.
