Well I cut my ST's and it's a lot lower. The ride hasn't changed much except when I hit big humps in the road at high speeds 60+ the car bounces once or twice (no biggy).

I cut one coil on the front, and two on the back. However, the car sags a little in the rear, and I still am not tucking or close to tucking. I'll post some pics.

If I put 18's on will it make the car look lower (fendergap wise?)

You say it "bounces" once or twice...
Does the car literally bounce off the road?? I hope not...

You say its no big thing --- just wait when you are in the middle of a fast turn at 50+ MPH and you hit a bump and get bounced around... I don't thing you'll be taking it so lightly...

Chopping two coils from the springs definitely requires upgrading the struts....

Buying 18" inch wheels won't make your gap smaller unless the tire you mount results in an overall diameter...

P.S. You don't need your car so low that the tire is "tucked in" to the wheel well...

Otherwise, you will be bouncing a lot more...
bounce-bounce-bounce right off the road...

I got tokicos. It doesn't bounce off the road it just bobs up and down once. It is actually pretty cool.

I just want minimal wheel gap.

How much did you pay for your ST springs and Tokico shocks?? (if you don't mind me asking) I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Ahh man... finally cut em. You probably should have slapped on some konis when you did it. Might really want to look into getting them for yours. I'm not sure if you saw how little bounce back my car had at that last maxima meet compared to Cheston's. I like my konis, I'd say you get some too.

How much did you want to pay for them? Someone offered $180.

The car doesn't bounce bad at all. I just took it out with 4 ppl in it, and it only bounced once over a large hump in the road.

Looks pretty clean. I'd say a good 2-2.5" drop now.

Question...

You guys talk a lot about cutting springs and taking struts off like its no big deal. I can handle the instal and all, but how do you guys handle the expense of an alignment every time you mess with this setup? I am assuming you do perform and alignment everytime you touch springs/shocks/struts, right?

What the hay is all this talk about cutting the springs, I've heard about cutting factory springs to get the lowered look, but we all know this is not a safe alternative to actual lowering springs. I have Intrax springs on mine and would just like to know what you guys did and how you did it. How does it look? What is the actual process for cutting the springs? Thnx.

Get a camber kit or say byby to your tires. Cutting two coils from a spring is a dangerous thing to do. You just asked your springs that are 20% weaker to take up 20% more load now.
