Did anyone figure out DTC 1004? (99SE)

Hey,

My SES light just came on, so I pulled the codes and got 10 04, which is not listed anywhere. I did a search but couldn't come up with anything more than other 99 owners asking what 10 04 meant. Did anyone ever find out?

Also, if I get it again I guess I'll just have someone check it with an OBD-II tool. There is a Pep Boys and an Advanced Auto near me- will they both do this for free? I'm at work right now and I can't call them.

Thanks,

Doug

It came on again

Anyone? I don't have time to bring it in to a shop any time soon...

I can't search and I can't recall my exact code, so was I one of the people that had it come up? The code isn't listed in any manual (I have both Haynes and FSM), and I had someone check with a consult. The code comes up as a dealer specific code.

You probably won't find anything about it unless you take it to the dealer, and even then most of the time they don't really know what they're talking about.
Good luck

The point is that a consult will pull the code (I believe this code is in the right range) and tell you that it's a dealer specific code. They'll tell you they don't know what it means, and to take the car to the dealer.

I've talked to service before trying to give them Pxxxx codes before, but they won't have anything of it. If it doesn't come off of their consult they won't tell you anything.

Also the last time my car was at the dealer they were trying to tell me I have a VLSD. I wish
