I just put on my wind deflector two days ago and my mudflaps like two weeks ago. I like the way it looks better than before, but I suggest that you shave about one inch from the mudflaps because the look really log in the front. I'm going for the clear turn signals next because I love the way they look.

Did your mudflaps not come standard with the car? I took mine off so the car doesn't look so domesticated. I think it looks better without them.I'm reinstalling my sunroof wind deflector after winter is finished.

I've got mudflaps but no wind deflector.

I think the mudflaps give it a more beefy hunkered down look. I don't have the wind deflector because I think it makes the car look a little lower or sleeker perhaps. Besides the sunroof has a little metal flap wind deflector that pops up to keep the cabin from cavitating anyway. Just my 2cents.

The little metal wind deflector doesn't help at highway speeds IMO. The wind noise just gets too loud. I find the plastic deflector great in cutting down the noise so much that I could have a normal conversation with my passenger without raising my voice.

?

I like the look of the deflector but I don't know about the mudguards. They are pretty long but i wouldn't shave a inch because I might sell them if I don't like them. I don't know maybe it looks fine but need some time to get use to them. those options did not come with the car when I bought it. I was too excited when I got it that I didn't get a deal on them when i got the car. Do you guys think that it looks good on a silver car, though.

I personally never liked mud guards, but I want a wind deflector myself. I think it looks pretty good on a maxima but not on all cars. Where is the best deal I can find to buy a wind deflector? and how much? and one more..Do I have to drill any holes in my roof to install it?

Wind deflector

I agree with what VanDanno said. In fact my internal deflector started rattling so much that I just removed it.

Question, is there a difference between getting the Nissan plastic deflector, or are the aftermarkets just as good??
It all looks like a deflector is a deflector, I'm just making sure before I get one.

I got my deflector at the local Nissan dealership. Check out http://www.courtesyparts.com they might have it. You don't have to drill holes in your roof, the installation was extra easy.

I picked up my wind deflector from the Nissan dealer. Its supposed to fit all of the Nissan products. There's no drilling involved. Its held on by clips each with a nut and bolt. I found it difficult to install because of the tight space in the sunroof but managed to get it on. I was afraid the acrylic would crack if I tightened the screw too tight so I didn't tighten it all the way down. Any comments on this?
With the sunroof shut I suppose the deflector could be stolen but without the clips it would be hard to hold it down.

Andy - Did you but the Ba;ck SE grill from E-Bay?

It looked like it was going to clear at about $55+?

I think if you were to buy one thing at the dealer's price

It would be the Sunroof wind deflector. It was only $40 and it can do so much. I keeps turbulance out on the fwy. If a rock is hit the sunroof while in motion, the rock would hit the deflector and not the sunroof (just hope it doesn't hit the windshield). Then again, with all the dealer add-ons it doesn't raise the price much, actually. For instance, my sticker price said $27K. The dealer asked my mom how much we would pay. We said 21K...the dealer said 22K. We said $24K out the door...he went to the calculator and smiled. He said he would lose $600 on the sale, but he said he gets an incentive if he sells just three more cars by that night (it was the last day of the month). So, if you bargain it down right, you can get all your options for just about nothing. My friend on the other hand paid $4K over the sticker price for his 98 Accord Coupe. He paid $2K more for a 4 banger after taxes and he lacks the add-ons.

I installed the mud guards and painted them the stock color.
They look a lot better especially if you have the stillen front kit like mine, without the rest of the Kit.

My Maxima had both when I got it.I like the mudflaps for looks and helps keep it a little cleaner but i took off the sun roof deflector bc it was very dirt and had a yellow strip where the seal is and could not tell a difference with it

I got my deflector and mudguards from courtesy nissan in texas also. a local dealer was asking for 79.00 for the mudguards and 65 for the deflector. so i check out courtesy and it was 40 for the deflector and 50.00 for the mudguards. it was a good deal. I think that i will leave it black and not body color because it looks better imo. My friend has a toyota solara and I don't like the body color mudguards and it might look werid to me. But that is only my opinion.

I had mudguards on for about a week and sold them. I hated the way they looked. I kept the sunroof visor. I think that adds a sleek more professional look to the car.

40 for the deflector and 50 for the mudflaps are about right. The flaps are supereasy to install, but I used the 240SX clips to put on the deflector on because I just couldn't get the Maxima ones to fit. I got them on tight, and the acrylic doesn't look the slightest bit stressed. I think that the mudflaps only look good on the darker colors, but I am thinking of painting them anyway even though my car is dark.

I wish I had mud flaps the whole time, my rocker panels and rear bumper cover are all chewed up from sand and stones.
Wind deflector looks stupid I think, but it is definately functional.
