Worth it or not?

I've been thinking about this recently...since i decided that the auto to 5 spd conversion would be too much to pay for...and i need a manual for what i want to do with my car...should i A) sell my current maxima and buy another 4th gen maxima 5 speed and mod it or B) sell my current maxima and buy a sports car of some kind and mod it....tell me what you think...thanks again

I was in a position like you when i first got my max. I was pleased with the performance of my automatic but when i got behind a 5spd i was dissapointed i didnt hold out for one in the first place. I thought about a 5 speed conversion and thought it would be too expensive and time consuming to go through with it. I then thought about selling my max and getting a 5spd but then thought it wouldnt be worth it. If i did sell my car i might get something else, especially if i could find a nice 96 impala SS. that is my 4dsc But back to you, depending on what you want, would selling your max to buy another one be worth it to you, or would spending $800+ to convert to a 5spd be a decision you wouldnt regret.

it depends on what you're going to want to accomplish. if you wana run 1/4 mile times like mardigrasmax....11.9!! then mod the hell out it. but if you just want something that looks awesome and has all the power when you need it, just do BASIC bolt ons...

basically i would have the most fun modding a car for 1/4 mile time...so im leaning more towards selling the maxima for a 5 speed GSX or WRX AWD launches

i keep hearing how gsx sux @ss, not sure if its true or not.the new WRX is nice as hell. i havent checked what kinda aftermarket they have but i know its gotta be good. how much do u have to spend. a few cars i was considering before i found my max was the VW 1.8GTI, impala SS, and a supercharged 2000 focus. They were all waaaayyy outta my price range (unless i financed). My favorite was the impala which had a corvette engine and auto-manual conversion. I begged for a testdrive but the guy wouldnt let me. well what ever way you choose to go make sure its a decission you will be happy with, after all youre gonna have to drive it.

About the GSX...ive driven my friends modded 13 second GSX and she got me hooked on them they run fine, can buy one for a relatively low price, and would be well worth modding but WRX on the other hand has performance and realibility but i think it lacks image...i think the WRX doesn't look all that great but just my opinion on it...

Financially, I'm not too sure how this all adds up. I would imagine that you would loose money selling your current max and buying a 5spd, unless it had more miles or was older or whatever. Would you loose more then a 5spd conversion costs? I dunno...

Also, WRXs aren't that cheap. If you have enough dough to spend on a rex, I imagine you could convert your auto.

Overall it sounds like you don't know what kind of car you want. I'd suggest you test drive everything you're thinking about: 5spd Max, WRX, GSX (already did I guess), mabye 300Z. Drive them all and pick whichever looks and feels right for you.

someone suggested a 300zx, i think that would be a pretty good choice. Ive seen a few in my area for sale that caught my eye and one was turbo. Hard thing is to determine how much abuse the driver put on it, well if you see bald *** tires and dents all over its not hard to assume. but some people are good at covering up the wear and tear. even if you can only find a N/A 300zx, average price ive seen is 7 grand for a nice 95 300zx with a fair amount of miles(90,000+) add turbo yourself and a few other mods and parts and you could have a sick *** car. GSX are cool and all but IMO they just dont have that heritage like a 300zx, and best of all its a nissan

300zx would be cool, if i hooked it up my way, id probably keep the body stock, with a few minor changes like a paint job(unless i found a zx in black). Id invest more into tha bad *** engine. i would have the sickest sleeper around. For some reason no one ever expects the stock looking car to be fast. I can see my self pullin up next to the integra with 5 grand invested in body work and neon lights. everyones cheering for the integra cause its a carnival on wheels but i would smoke him and everyonwe would live hapily ever after.
dude get the ZX so i could live my dreams through you.
