You just can't have nice things anymore...

OK, this morning at 4:45 am, some high school kids decided they wanted my max ( or its parts). Now, I have no stickers, and only rims and tint on the outside. Now the inside, that is where all the mods are Like most Max owners, i keep my car spotless, and nothing laying on the inside- ( again, all my stereo stuff is hidden)
BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO - so they break a window and my alarm goes off ( gee- that was what the blinking light was for) SO they panic and grab my detector ( its 8+ years old) and run. Now I am out a window, some tint and a detector. All because some punk wanted something for free.

So, I am curious how rampant this is.

IF I had caught them, being ex-law enforcement, ( I know how easy these guys get off) I would have been "creative" in how I dealt with them.

SO until next time........

I thought you said "Now I have no stickers" like they took them or something .

Two weeks ago, my friend forgot to lock his Civic in our driveway in Rochester. It just happened that one of my roommates woke him up the next morning, and his trunk was open... sub box with 2 12s and 2 amps, $800 retail was gone, along with two CD cases from up front. This was in our driveway.

We bet it was someone in the neigborhood since he has bright blue flashing LEDs, and they probably saw they were off and went for the door.

Sorry to hear it, two of my other friends have gotten ripped off parked in the city. Get a window from a junkyard.

I feel for you man.. my best friend had his 626 broken into they took the HU, but they left behind the 2 amps and the 2 subs in the trunk. if anything like that would happen to me ... all i can say is, after taking karate for 5 years they'd get "minimal internal body damage" self-healing with time of course, but they'd be in some serious pain for 2 weeks -- they'd think twice before attempting to rob another car.

P.S. What comes around goes around, they'll get theirs in due time.

sorry to hear about that...
i've been in a similar situation, being the victim of a hit and run costing $1300Cdn.

for that one time you decide to run a stop sign, he'll be the pedestrian crossing the road.

and if you find out who it is, break his fingers and he'll think twice before doing something stupid again.

When i lived in doraville, ga ... ..some thugs plucked my kenwood dpx-410 I called the police ..gave them all the info . it was nearly 2 thousand dollars in damage..had insurance $$ i still want that unit back.. the 97 maxima alarm is weak ... i wonder if any aftermarket alarms are worth buying? ifigure in most of our cases , its bmw owners who are jealous..cause they just went out and paid double for their rides and we can wax them..

Insurance these days get you either way: in premiums if you report, or out of your pocket if you don't.

But I had to laugh that across the street was my friend's accord; and for some reason they did not hit him.

Guess the public ( even the stupid ones) know that Maximas infinately rock!

New window in, tinted to match, and ordered new radar detector.

The car is a GXE so no factory alarm- I have a Code-alarm with the red light wired into the factory dash alarm light.

( oh, and by the way, I had that uniden detector since 93, and it was the best purchase I ever made!!- Bought my GF a Cobra one and hate it)

(Stupid qestion for the day: why is it that when people in ****ty cars drive bad around you its ok, but then you decide to keep up with them to prove their car sucks, you get the finger??)

And how much of a post ***** do I have to be to get that Newbie label off?? ( its like being a sixth grader at the HS dance)

i feel for you bro, same thing happened to me.. the bum who stole my radar decided that he wanted to be creative and used a 7x5 inch stone and smashed my drives side window, the rock stop in the passenger side door armrest, crushing it.. they didn't search my car at all, which was lucky for me considering the stock alarm didn't go off and there was a Movado watch in the coin box...
