JWT cams and ECU

I want the ECU now but plan on getting the cams this coming winter. Is there a different ECU for the cams? And with springs and retainers what rev limit should i get? I was thinking if the ECU is the same i would get one now with 7600 limit and mayby limit it with a MSD box untill i get the cams. thanks

I wondered the same thing. I never thought to ask while I was on the phone with JWT though. I wouldn't worry about the 7600RPM limiter, just don't rev it that high until you get the cams and valvesprings. I wonder how far we can wind this motor out with cams and springs and retainers anyhow, 8000rpm VQ sounds nice to me

Yes 8000RPM would be nice but i didnt think our engine could take it?or would it pull to 8000RPM. Well i'll be going to the track this saturday to see how my pathfinder TB fairs. And hopfully good gains from y-pipe and ACT. Did you go to the track today?

i thought that our engines started to choke after 5 or 6000 rpms due to the manifold. do you guys have or are getting MEVI's or something. Id love to see a vq rev past 7000 rpms with out any worry. I wish my max was a 5spd so i could take advantage of higher rev lmits. Is there anything i can do to make my auto take advantages of higher rev limit.

I think our motors can easily handle 7500rpms, the problem is the valve springs. If we didn't have FOUR cams to replace, the JWT cams would be on my list along with their valve springs. I'm going to check my Chilton's manual to see just how intensive the cams are to replace.

Can you keep us posted on that Pathfinder throttle body? I read about someone else having one today and I was wondering what kind of improvement I'd expect by getting one. Do you have cams or anything other than the Y-pipe and I'm guessing intake that would have to do with intake or exhaust?

The power adders i have are all in my sig.I havent quit finished the TB project it is not a( just get the TB and bolt it on) kind of thing. But its very easy if you have what you need. I would be done but i dont have a garage and the weather I'll update on the gains.

Well hopefully it can be put in for around $600 my local dealer said $1000 but there is a performance shop near me that has a laber rate around $35 a hour cheap, they usally do honda engine swaps, big wings. If you had cams what would you set the limit at? And what date do you look for when getting a used ECU.thank you Chris
