B&G Sag - again
Yep - after a few weeks, my B&G's are sagging just as much in the back as they were when the springs were upside down.
1/2 finger width in the rear
3 in the front.
I once saw a post that discussed spring spacers, and where to get them, with part numbers.
Can someone post that information, please?

To reply to everyone:
1) My car is Auto, with a SC for a tiny bit more weight.
2) I have checked and re-checked the part numbers on my Springs because B&G DID send me the wrong springs the first time. I have verified this with other members.
3) My Strut mounts are in great condition, and are installed correctly.....After doing this 4 times now, (Sprints, then these, which were the wrong ones, then new ones, then they were upside down in the rear, then turned them right-side up) I've got it down pretty good.
4) ANyone have that part nubmer for the spacers?

I already know about the optical illusion caused by the rear fenders - this is much worse.
I wish it was just slightly - I'm scraping my exhaust on driveways....
I'll try and get pics tonight....
Although all I really need is that part number.

Ian,
I don't have part #'s, but these spacers are widely available at any auto-parts store & they're cheap, too. (Under $10)
They have a variety of sizes to choose from offering lifts from 1/2" to 2"
I got a set at Pep Boy's before doing a little light trailering with a utility trailer and they worked great. Install is about 15 mins a side including jacking & wheel removal.
Good luck!

I think you are looking for the spring spacers from Autozone that DashingMax recommended a while back. I think the SKU number was 81500 or something like that. They are called coil spring stabilizers. If I could search, I can find it, but I can't......

Just curious, would using the "spacers" or "stabilizers" effect the way the rear suspension would handle? I know that stock racing cars use somthing of the sort to vary their handling, but thats circle track. Just wondering.

LOVE my B&Gs... AGXs, Motivational Mounts...
not to rub it in but... My B&Gs have been great. The B&Gs along with AGXs and Motivational rear Mounts make my MAX handle like a street legal slot car. It may be the Motivational mounts in the rear that gave me the level drop or that I dropped about $200 extra for new OEM (bushings, upper front mounts, rubber seats, isolation wraps etc.) parts when I did the rebuild.
There were enough org members reporting good drops with the B&Gs to make them my spring of choice. I have read adding the spacers will effect the spring performance. But do what you have to at least get a level drop.

A little Caution
I also have the same problem with the sag on my drop with H&R's. I have a 5speed with some extra stereo weight in the back so that doesn't help either.
As for the spacers. I bought a set from pep-boys that go between the coils and raise the rear slightly. They were like $10. With them on it eliminates all the sag and give a more agressive look which I like. HOWEVER, I was getting my front axle replaced and my mechanic was looking at the rear set-up and noticed that the spacer was hitting the strut so he took them out. I just got my car back so I havnen't investigated where it was actually hitting or how bad, but I assume it wasn't good if he took them out for me. So now I have rear sag again!
I need a solution as well. I'm either going to try a different spacer or I'm thinking about switching to Maxspeeds and selling my H&R's. I really don't want to do this, but don't know what else to try.
Iansw, you can try a set of spacers such as the ones I got from pep-boy's. Just keep checking to make sure that your not going to hit the strut. I'll let you know when I check and talk to my mechanic again how bad it acutally was.
As far as the part #, I don't recall anyone posting a OEM one when I was looking (which was a while). Please let me know if you find a solution....I'm in the same boat.

Re: A little Caution
FYI...when my spacers were on I didn't notice any change in performace or noise. I had them on for a little over three months. It does say on the package that they come in to check them frequently and the guy told me that I shouldn't use them as a permanent fix however so who knows if they are unsafe or hinder performance.

rbeyer's comments are interesting. I am thinking that an improper original installation without replacement of other components may have something to do with it. Perhaps the motivational rear mounts may assist.

Every install had all parts included, just unfortunately the wrong springs, then upside down....now that's all fixed.
We inspected the mounts for any degregation/damage from the wrong springs, and they looked great.
Not dissing ya, just don't really get your meaning.
Care to explain further?

did you replace the bushings when you did this install? I'm saying that if the rest of the hardware was not replaced, then the springs installed incorrectly, it could lead to excessive compression of the bushings or a similar problem with overcompression of the springs (I don't see how the latter would be possible but they WERE upside-down).
Rbeyer's similar problem with H&R's indicates to me that there is some kind of common thread.
