There isn't a Maxima on here that has run less that a 2 second 60' without boost.
I take that back Neal ran a 1.99, so there is one exception to every rule.

talking auto's and manuals. I could write up 10 pages on this arguement easily. But to just prove a point to every1 that THINKS all sticks are faster, here this. In rail cars do u ever see a stick... um no... and take my dads 440 coronet R/T auto, race and auto stock r/t vs a stick r/t, he blows the doors off them every time. not to burst ne ones bubble, but if you don't believe me look it up sticks are not alwyas faster than autos, period.

this is more associated towards powerful domestic dragsters than weak imports. cars like the max that have a lack of power need the extra bit of power from gearing and less drivetrain loss that the manual transmission offers.
so you're particular situation isn't really relevant when looking at maxima's. i think the fastest max (mardigras) just got an 11.9 or something close to that and he's stick. auto is probably the way to go with sub 10 second cars.

Thats the difference between 15.4 N/A and 13.1 with spray. I think that would classify as a littler higher HP.

This year I am going to do lightening on my 95 I just got. Already working on it. I want a 1.7 this year.
You are right though, the setup makes a big difference, I block the rear, which is good for about .2 in the 60' time.

AUTO VS. MANUAL
AUTO OWNER ...BUT I THINK ITS PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT THE MANUAL IS A FAR BETTER REACTOR UP FRONT...PLUS WITH AT LEAST SOME MODS...
THE AUTO HAS FLAWS HERE AND THERE MAINLY PICK UP...UNLESS OF COURSE YOU GOT A S/C...BUT HEY THATS MY OPINION

What I am trying to get across is that you do not need a high stall torque convertor to run good 60' times, as a matter of fact I am not sure it would help at all.
Someone did mention the drop resistor mod, it does help especially when you get into the 13's. The faster you get the more it helps.

Auto vs. Manual
I have both 5sp(90) and auto(99) maximas. I sometimes miss the manual shifting (like when im reading this forum) but love the way i can relax in my newer auto max. It just suits the car better to have it in auto. THATS JUST MY OPINION. and thats why i bought it that way.
