Need some more help :S -> Faulty coil

Well recently my cars TCS and SLIP light has been coming on and its been hesitating like crazy. I took it into nissan after I could not pull the proper code from the ECU but I knew it was the coil that was faulty, but the problem was which one was bad one? Anyways 2 hrs and $90 later Nissan said "Yuup, its a bad coil"... Which one I asked impatiently and all I got in return was a head shake and a shru

Anyways I was wondering if there is any way to test these coils so I can find the faulty one. I tried pulling the codes and that didn't work and my only other idea was to buy one and swap out each one until it hesitates/drives properly. I also heard I could use an ohm meter to measure resistance and simply swap out the one thats not like the others.

Anyone have any ideas or theories on how I can go about doing this?

btw. I have a 1999 maxima GLE with 110 km on it and the code I pulled was 0505 (which means it has to do with the idle)... TIA

When you take out the coil you should see 3 male connections. Orient the coil so that the part that is closest to the spark plug is to your right and the 3 male connector part is to your left. Starting from right to left I will number the male connectors as 1,2 and 3 so we have the same frame of reference. (all this is being done with the coil out of the car and in your hand.)
Now, take a ohmmeter and connect the positive probe to terminal no.1 and the negative to terminal no.2 of the coil connector. The meter should indicate infinite resistance. Reverse the meter leads (negative probe to terminal no. 1 and positive probe to terminal no.2)-continuity should be indicated, but not zero ohms. If the results are not as specified, replace the coil.
Now connect an ohmmeter between the secondary terminal (the one that the spark plug connects to, not part of the 3 male connector) and the terminal no. 1, the meter should indicate infinite resistance. If not replace the coil.
Check each coil in the same manner.
