steering wheel shaking when stop

96 Maxima with 140K on it.

Whevever I stop at a red light or stop sign, when it is still on "D"
the steering wheel is shaking a lot. When the car starts to move,
it is gone and drives fine.

Do you guy have any idea what could be wrong? how to fix it?

many thanks.

Clean your throttle body, change your plugs, fuel filter, and pcv valve.

I second that, or third that. I put in new NGK Plats about 6 weeks ago.I now have changed the PCV valve, fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body. The plugs itself didn't stop the vibrating steering wheel but the fuel filter change and throttle body cleaning did the trick...Try those and that should go along way to fixing your prpblem...
