A Celica GT-S will not walk a Maxima... plus he has a y-pipe and pop charger.

A Celica GT-S will not walk a Maxima. Those cars are absolute dogs below 6000 rpm. It drives like a Corolla. But after 6000 rpm, the car really comes alive but by that time, the Maxima will already be way ahead. Maxima > GTS!

Maxima > GTS
Thats funny

a kid from my work with a 91 celica with a exhaust
Do those things even have 100 hp? Some people just assume all 4dr cars are slow...

But after 6000 rpm, the car really comes alive
I've sat in a Matrix with the GTS engine, and yeah, it's pretty cool after 6000 RPMs...too bad it couldn't feel like that throughout the rev band.

ah! my first car was a 89 celica GT. I dropped a 91 engine in it too. they are SLOW haha. My brother drives it now... it's mostly all show and no go lol. Now if it was an All-Trac Turbo... 4 wheel drive, turbo YUM.

i just restored that car too a while ago. the suspension blows my maxima away but when it comes to power... no comparison.

btw my celica also had popcharger w/ exhaust... maybe pushing 135HP.

Do wha?

*********The celica gts wouldve walked on you easily************

Please tell me this is not true... if this is true then it can only be true to some maxima driven folks who:

1. never changed their oil in 456,980 miles
2. the maxima had a flat tire and 768 pounds of luggage in the trunk
3. the maxima driver was 97 years old, sedated, and looking for the nearest bingo hut in reverse
4. maxima was filled to the brim with 87 octane, and was riding on 25 inch rims, with the parking brake up
5. maxima was being towed by big truck but celica driver was drunk and didnt notice

the new Gt-s celicas are pretty quick actually. they lack in torque, but it will walk a 4th gen on the highway, and give a real good race to a stock 5speed. people run anywhere from 14.8-15.3 with the Gt-s 6speeds, very close times to a 5speed max. they push 180hp and weigh about 300lbs less than a max
