fought with a pothole-and lost.

I am so ****ed. I pulled into the local Sonic last night and when i pulled in, i hit a massive pothole that i couldn't miss. i felt it hit the bottom of the pothole-HARD. when i crept the rest of the way through the lot, I could hear the tire hissing. I get out and my tire is almost completely flat. I changed it with one of my stockers and am now riding oddball. I have talked to the place and they are reimbursing me for my tire.

Now comes the question-My car is vibrating a little-I don't know if it is from the tire not being driven on for a while, or if it is because of this-should i ask them to pay for an alignment too? I will have a mechanic friend of mine look at the car to make sure
that nothing is bent/damaged/loose. If he says it looks ok, should i still take it to an alignment shop?

Other than that, the wheel is my only other concern. I don't think the lip is bent on my wheel, but if it is scuffed i will probably ask them to replace it. The only way i can see that the wheel is bent or anything is to check to see if it is out of balance, right? If knowing anything about my wheels will help, I have enkei rs-6's.

Thanks

Dude what are you talking about? Stupid post? Not at all. I feel your pain man a few weeks ago I was actually FORCED into 2 potholes and amazingly popped only one of my tires. I tried to get the state to pay for it because it was a state road, but the state rep's insurance company rejected my complaint. I'd say get someone to look at your car first for free. You may have just rattled something loose from your undercarriage. Then, if everything is fine, ask about getting alignment.
Hope this helped,
MassMax

Send the bill to Sonic. It's very rare for pot hole claims to go through. But I know 2 people that did that and got paid. Worth a shot.

Peace - The Chad

sonic has really good burgers and milk shakes Yeah send them the bill they should of got that fixed a long time ago.. Could of caused an accident, u run it over your tire pops u swing hard to the right/left hit another car that car hits another one and a gas truck hits the other car and everyone dies... =( So just try to make them pay it all..

vibration is probably from the stock tire you have now. It's not balanced properly w/ all 4 of ure tires, let alone at least the front pair.

Usually when people talk about vibration w/ tires... it is because it isn't balanced or alignment is off. Hopefully you're alignment is the same because I don't know if Sonic will cover that too... it could get messy.

good luck
