A/F gauge behavior question
I have just intalled an Autometer Air/Fuel gauge last night and took it out on a test run (or two). I was expecting the gauge to be pretty useless unless I'm under WOT. Then it should settle somewhere into the ideal or Stoic. range.
I'm finding that my gauge is reading full rich while under WOT. Is this normal? Or do I have a fuel delivery/regulation problem?
Anyone with this gauge or a similar gauge installed, please tell me what reading you are getting while under WOT.
Thanks in advance,
D

Originally I was getting about 2-3 bars into rich, but lately ive been gtting full rich sometimes....not all the time....sometimes im still 2-3 into rich...I'm pretty sure my o2 that its hooked up to is shot, because i get some pretty off the wall readings sometimes (never happened for the first few months of the install)...

I have two of the autometer A/F guages right now, one on each sensor (got the sensors form courtesy nissan). I'm N/A too. Both of my guages read the last stoich bar before LEAN when I'm warmed up. They start at full rich when I fire the car up and settle down to what I said before when warmed up.
When its WOT its also at full rich, all the way right. That is normal the computers in loop mode under WOT so the engine runs rich.
So your guys guages sound OK. As for ejj and the blower If your tuned of course its full rich .
AS for my reading of almost lean I am kinda worried about my fuel delivery I guess since I have near 150k stock injectors, pump, etc. But I'm sitting right where the most power is made safely I think. Any Input?

the autometer a/f guage is pretty much useless, and should never be used for tuning. It will give you a basic idea of what the car is doing, but I know a few people who used one and the guage said they were rich while a wideband (acurate) sensor said they were dangerously lean. The only accurate ones are the wideband that cost $400+ with its own 02 sensor that must be replaced every so many miles...

I've said it before, but in my mind the AF guage is just really a place-holder with fancy lights. Once I have the need for a more functional guage, the AF is gone.
