Im not sure about a 98.. but my sister's 93 is slower than my max. It isnt slow like a civic, but it doesn't have any get-up-and-go.

Are you autotragic?? If so, it will be a good run, if you are stick, no contest. BTW, they have a 3.0L 210hp V6

ok if your auto it's basically a drivers race.. but know he is a little faster and a ES300 uses the same engine as my Avalon the 1MZ-FE and it ranges from 192-200 hp in that yr only the new ones with cariable valve timing go to 210. and I've raced maximas and if your a stock max auto no but stick yes

and i've driven both extensivly as I own a avalon and my parents used to have a 99 max auto

BTW thats when I taught my dad a lesson

No offense love the max in 5spd

Acceleration for the 97 ES300 is 0-60 in 7.8 sec and a 16.1 Quarter mile. Very similar times to a Maxima, if not slightly faster. Your intake should give you a high end advantage. Maybe a highway race would be more to your advantage.

no, highway race would be a bad idea. the lexus is geared better and will pull on you extensivly on the highway, especially at speeds of 90+.

if your going off the line i think it will be a close race, but if the lexus is running a 16.1 i would give the upper hand to you.(if you get a good launch.) with these types of races though, there is only one way to find out

stick = more power to the wheels, and if you know how to drive, you can get a much better launch.

The launch is everything, and remember neutral drops are not good for your car .

My dad has an auto ES300 99 and i kill him with my auto max

Those car might have a bit more hp but they are only usable at high range.

I drove his car and when i floored it, i was really dissapointed.

It does not have the same pep as my max.

Hope this helps.
