just wanted to share some racing, tonight me and friends were hanging out, one of my friends has a lexus ES300 (94). I had 4 people in my car and so did he. First he wanted to go from that start, well lets just put it this way, he stoped reving his engine after 30, because he knew he was smoked. Then we go on the highway, and thats where he wanted to take me. wellllllll think again, i was going about 85 in 5th gear, i saw him catching up, so downed to 3rd, i was still pretty fast, but he was trying to catch up on my 4th gear at about 100, then when i hit 5th at about 105, 110 at 5 rpms, well thats when i saw him in my rear window...........

Since we're on the subject...

of Lexus, I was checking out their website, just taking a look at the new IS 300 (I think that's what it is). Anyways, it's supposed to be a new, fast, sporty sedan. Well, think again. It listed its 0-60 times at 7.1 sec. and its 1/4 mile at about 15.3 sec. Is it just me, or shouldn't a $32,000 sedan do a little better than that? If I'm not mistaken, a '92-'94 Maxima SE is at 6.7 sec. 0-60. It makes you appreciate these solid, reliable, and yet very fast cars!!!

The Maxima SE has always been awesome. But remember, that's an auto-equipped IS300, I imagine the 5-speed will be competitve with the SE.
