Hanabi HIDs fade

I just installed the 8,000K kit yesterday. I noticed that when i first flick on the HIDs, they are nice and bright, but after about 10 seconds, they fade down considerably. Then, once again, they fade down again (its not a gradual fade, its a sudden fade where it looks as if it shifts down to a lower brightness all of a sudden). Then i notice that the lights somewhat flicker for a few seconds, and then it seems ok. Whats with the fading though?? I wish it hadnt done that.

Check your connections. Make sure they are nice and solid. Don't use those quick wire tap things. They will eventually come lose again.

sounds like you have a bad kit and a bad not connection. I would exchange them ASAP.

I had a connection problem when I first installed my Hanabi's. One of the plugs had a little in and out play, causing the bulb to go out randomly, so I used a zip tie around it to hold it tight. Haven't had a problem since.

The lights should be kinda dim when you turn them on, then gradually get brighter and brighter...I know that's what mine and Ant's do. Right Ant?

to some extent that is normal, the bulb has to warm up, so the bulb gets to its correct color and brightness.... when i turn mine on they change colors a bit and flicker a little... thats just them warming up. i wouldn't worry too much about it.. mine have always done it, and i have no problem with them so far

thanks for the suggestions. i just posted another thread about the kit...the lights dont work now! all i did was relocate one of the ballasts, and that light went out. then, i jiggled wires, checked connections, etc, and then the other one went out. just to clarify: the lights fade a few seconds after I turn them on. I have seen a countless number of vehicles with HIDs, and none dim down suddenly like mine do. its almost like as if there was a brightness switch that was being turned down from "HI" to "LOW" not a gradual dimming. here is the story:

called up freddie, but i think he's busy right now.
