run a relay from what would switch the piezo tweeter to the main horn and now you have a horn honk, might be a bit too loud tho.

thats what i was worried about so i was looking for an intermediate device that wouldnt be TOO loud but yet louder than the tweeter

has anyone hooked the relay up to the horn? most new cars use the horns to audibly verify youre car is locked/alarm is armed.

I did this, and mounted the piezo outside under the bumper, much more louder now. Just buy the loudest piezo you can, also I skipped the relay, piezo only draws 50mA max...

just get an aftermarket air horn system and use that. all you have to do is connect it to the horn relay.

I used the siren from an alarm system. It was a viper that my buddy tore out of his Eclipse cause it was annoying him (PO installed).

Anyway, hooked it up via relay.

It sounds unique, that is for sure... since the blink of the lights isn't an instant on thing, it has a wierd sound. It is hard to describe. Very loud though.

I tell you one thing, when my car doors lock - I KNOW it is my car.

One of these days, I will solder something up to split up the voltage so I can get a couple shorter beeps per blink.

Go to Radio Shack, or better yet, to an electronics supply store where all the smark geeks hang out, and tell them what you want. They'll set you up.
