Auto Tranny Jerky

Anyone have any idea why or what is going on with my transmission beginning to get a little 'sticky' on certain shifts and also if I'm cuising fairly slowly on the highway, like 40 or so, it will give me a little tug when I let off the gas.

Any ideas? Also if there is any sort of good care things I could do to keep the tranny in general good health, let me know, I'm interested.

Thanks guys

Do the tranny flush at Jiffy Lube or some other quickie lube place - it's $70-90 and it replaces the fluid almost 100%. It may help and it's good for the tranny.
Also, it may not be your tranny - it may be something else, like TPS. Pull the codes from ECU.

There is nothing wrong with the tranny. It is going to tug a bit after letting off the gas, that just happens sometimes. Some people get it, some don't, but there is not a whole lot you can do. Certainly, I doubt you will pull any codes with this symptom.

Also, more important than flushing your transmission fluid is having a service where the transmission oil filter is changed. Some people would NOT recommend a full flush. I, personally, have had mine flushed before, and I did not notice a difference.

actually i had my tranny oil flushed at the dealer about 2 months ago and i noticed immediately that the jerky shift from 1-2 had disappeared. the car was running VERY smoothly. but after about 2 months i noticed that the car is shifting just likes its 92k mile self again. oh well...it seems to shift faster and harder at WOT now anyway.

Disconnect the negative battery cable for about 2 hours. Connect it back. I did it to mine, when we upgraded the grounding.

Shifts much much smoother now.
