Busted console trim piece

There's a plastic trim panel in the center console that goes around the gear shift, holding the shift boot and the cig lighter in place. Well, it's broken around the lighter due a lot of cell phone charger use. Anyone know what the part number of this piece is or what it's officially called? Does a manual have the same trim piece as an auto? Maybe I'm better off hunting for it in a junkyard? I'll be installing new shift and e-brake boots soon and want to take care of it at the same time. - thanks

That is your shifter trim piece. You can find them on eBay, your local dealers, and other maxima.org members, such as Max4Speed. BTW, is your car an auto or 5-speed...

$70 - ouch! I have a 5 speed.
Anyone have a P/N that I can use to search on-line?

Thanks for the link and your effort, sOber. Although I don't need the whole console, it looks to me that it's for an auto but I'll email the seller to be sure. I think I'll be haunting a few of the local yards this weekend to see what I find too.

If it is a fairly clean break, and the peices fit back together tight, you can use a plastic weld glue, and touch up the joint with a permanent ink felt pen if needed. Get the plastic weld glue at auto parts store. It's a 2 part glue. It works when used properly. the key is to clean, clean, then clean again and then ad primer properly. After gluing, wait a day before reassembling.

Also, some auto plasics made of PVC can be repaired with sprinkler pipe primer and glue. If possible, glue a piece of scrpa plastic on back side of brake to stenthen repair joint. I've made several of these repairs, and I could barely see it was ever broken, and only because I knew it was.

Hey - great idea! (superglue doesn't work so well)
So I did some 'welding' tonight and the piece isn't so bad now. I beefed up the support on the backside with extra epoxy and I think it might be strong enough to hold the 12V outlet. At least it's functional, and I'll see how much I notice it when it's back together. Thanks again.

You could always hit the junkyard too.
