Do you have to drill to put this ebay CAI in???

I've read hundreds of posts on this, but does anyone who has this ebay CAI know if you have to drill into the fender to put it in. I have a 98 I30, and I dont want to drill it because most likely when it comes time to sell it the person wont like it.

That is a Place Racing knock off and yes you have to cut a 3" hole beside your battery.
Its no big deal if you later decide to remove it, the hole is virtually invisible except to someone who knew exactly where to look.

what can I use to drill the hole and does anyone have a template?
also, once the hole is done, how can I prevent rust?

You could probably do it with a 3" hole saw, the ones you attach to a drill, it most likely won't rust.

There is, and it's a hole saw, which is what the parent to your reply was referring to. Looks like a cookie cutter with teeth, and has a drill bit in the center to align.

eBay CAI is jus the same as place racing, u HAVE to drill a hole...but u don't need to drill a hole on the fender. jus jack up ur car and unscrewed the bolts tat holds the fender, and stick the K&N or watever filter u have from the bottom.

u HAVE to drill a hole.
