my car was not ideling right so i deceided to clean the trottle body. Well i just finished and now it is ideling at 1100RPM. I havent' driven around but just like 2 miles. Is this normal, or do i have a bigger problem. The car drives very smooth now. I used RTP throttle dody cleaner from Auto-zone for $1.99

 

my car idels at 700rpm after its warmed up and the transmission is in park. When i am stopped at a light or osmething while my car is in Drive my car idels at 500rpm. I never really paid attention to the rpm before during my car was in Drive and at a full stop but i think its normal cause the tranmission puts a little load on the engine and brings the RPM down a little...what do you think?

 

yea when my car is in anything but park of neutral it goes down to like 700 rpm. But if its in park or neutral my car right now is ideling at 1100rpm. I don't think that is normal.

 

I posted a similar problem a while back. My engine idled high around 750 after cleaning the TB. Cold idle still seems high. I disconnected the battery for 24 hours and it appeared to help. I took the car to the dealer yesterday and they told me my idle is behaving normally. When stopping it stays around 750 RPM then after a second or two it goes to 550 RPM. I don't remember the delay but maybe the throttle body got gummed up so slowly over time that it has been a long time since I saw a normal idle. I'm still stumped about the slight idle drop delay but the dealer said it was fine and didn't charge me.
