CAI or pop charger?

I'm still trying to decide whether I should buy a CAI or pop charger for my 98 I30. I dont want to loose low end power, and i've heard that the pop charger and injen CAI do that. If thats the case what set up will not allow you to loose low end torque? Brands and set ups would really help. Thanks

An intake with longer piping will cause the smallest loss of low end, but yield less mid-high gains. A popcharger and mid-pipe, such as what frankencar.com sells is a good combination of mid-high gains and minute low end loss. I have a midpipe and JWT popcharger and personally love it.

joew is not only wrong, he can't form a sentence with proper grammar.

If you want low end power with a little top end power, get a CAI; if you want high end power with a little low end loss, get a popcharger.

For me, the tiny low end loss was acceptable and I could barely feel the loss while the top end gain more than made up for it.

your max is 190 hp. how much hp gain can you gain from it. can you really feel it, no. it's all in your head. if you are planning to install many different mods such as y-pipe etc... then it's good. pop charger with a mid pipe is good but loud like a mustang. pop charger without a mid pipe, there is a delay in engine power when i step on the gas pedal at about 40mph and up.

That is correct. All the fastest times are run with popchargers. I researched intakes for a long time before I finally ended up getting the pop. If you want to race and be fast get the pop, if you just want a little more power for everyday driving get the CAI.
