UDP now or later - belt replacement

Hi all! My belts are in serious need of replacement as I noticed when changing my oil on Sunday. I was contemplating getting an underdrive pulley in the future, which I would also have to change belts for. Should I just do it all in one shot right now or wait and do them separate? Cost differences? Also, I'm not exactly sure which belts I'm looking at. They're the belts you can see when you take off your front right tire. Thanks.

Also, anyone have a blown passenger airbag? I want one. Thanks

Sounds like a great time to throw the UDP on. It drives the two accessory belts (alternator & power steering pump I believe).

Post a request about the airbag in the F/S Forum.

I think the UDP is a great bang for the buck mod, particularly if you install it yourself. Since you have to change the belts anyway you might as well do both at the same time and not have to buy different belts later (You need shorter belts for the UDP). The belts you see when you take off the pasenger side front tire are the power steering belt and the Air conditioner/Alternator belt.

You can buy the Unorthodox Racing UDP for around $190 and you might be able to find it a little cheaper on special. Or pick up a used one for around $100-125. They have been around a long time so they are 'proven'

The UDP from Definitive is $145 (with timing ring for the 4th gen) but there was a group deal for $115 not to long ago. This is a newer company but the pulley appears to be very good quality.

Do not buy the RVM UDP. It is only ~$80 but there have been serious problems with it.

You can't change the belts and not change the pully. The belts for an UDP are shorter to accomodate the smaller dia pulley. Best choise is to change the UDP and belts together or buy new stock belts. Whichever is better for you $$$ money wise.
