Just had first race!!!

no more than twenty minutes ago, I leave work to have these two lawn mowers pull up next to me. One's a civic hatch, and the other is an Integra. Both are late 80's early 90'2 model. As their going through traffic, I follow them to see what I can see.
At the next light, the civic turns, but the Integra continues on. I follow him somemore to see what he's got. Lowered gear, 4"tube and a lot of new, shiney exhaust and some chromes. I haven't heard him lay on it yet, but he's pretty loud at this point (45 -50MPH). He weaves into the left hand lane, and I don't feal like pullin in front of the guy he just cut off. Funny thing is, the guy he cut off (teal z24) stops 6 car length shy of the teg and waves me in to get behind the teg. At this point the teg realizes that I want something and he pulls over to the right hand lane and slows down fast to see what I got. Realizing that I'm as close to bone stock as I can get (which I am 99 SE Auto
) he pulls up next to me and nods.
Now his car looks pretty tight, and sound fairly quite while ideling. The light turns yellow, and he starts to rev, that's when I start to here a whining from the engine. (boost or not...I dont' know) Now, I haven't raced before, so I hesitate at the green when he does. He drops the clutch and starts to squeel, so I lay on it. 0-60MPH, I've got him by about 3/4 car and stretching it. At about 75, traffic pulls out into his lane, so instead of making something ugly, I back off. He cuts me off and keeps going, so I lay on it again.
At this point I've alread started to slow while he was excelerating. I get around 3 car length from his bumber at about 100 -110mph and he starts tapping his breaks. I slow down and we keep on for another mile until the next light. I don't know where the cop came from, but I noticed him coming up fast, without any lights. Still no lights, but I move into the right hand lane anyway to see if he'll let me go. Sure enought, he wanted the loud little 4 banger and he got him.
1 mile down the road and a few goose bumps later, the z24 pulls up to me with his interior lights on and gives me a big thumbs up. Damn that felt good!!!

auto sucks!!!
Would have been SOOO much nicer to have a 5 speed!!! my car was nearly redlining the whole friggen time. Had I had th 5 speed and hit it right when the light turned, I would have put a serious hurtin on him, then again, so would have the cop on me, I think. I call it a slow 0-60 win, but I'm not sure about the 1/4 mile. Would have been nicer without everyone else on the road. Like I said, I'm not sure just what he had (boost /no boost ?), so it's the not knowing that's really killing me now.
