Shift knob question

Shift **** question

This may sound stupid, but how does the shift **** on a 96 max 5 spd come off? is it threaded? does it pull off is there glue or locktite on the threads?

It is threaded. Just turn it left many times and it wil come off.

Yea there's glue/loctite on the threads. My recommendation is a strap wrench....wish I'd had one when I took mine off. I used channellocks with a rag and still scarred up the leather a bit. Just turn to the left HARD and it will eventually break loose.

i even tried using a strap wrench and it didn't work, my stock know is pretty FUBAR
