Sprint w/ Agx making noise
I just put in sprint springs with agx struts in my 96 max. I did it myself and thought it would turn out well. Im wondering if i didnt compress the springs enough. When i drive it the springs turn in intervals which makes a noise. They also feel like they lift up when i go over bumps and rises in the road. any idea's what happend?
Thanks guys

Springs are supposed to extend over bumps and such.. that's the point of springs.
What sounds are they making? Just the fronts? When you're driving going straight, turning the wheels when stopped?
Did you replace the crappy plastic strut bearings?
Need more info....

it happends when i go over bumps and turn the wheel, when im not moving or going slow. The spring feels like it moves slighty. I didnt compress the springs. What i ment was getting them in the bracket or what ever its called that holds the strut and spring together as tight as they should have been. It only happends in the front two. Any idea's? i didnt replace the strut bearing cause i didnt know you needed too. Will that matter?

Did you wrap the springs? You should wrap the coils where they make contact with the strut shoes. However, it's not nessecary to wrap the whole spring. You can use flex-loom or the stock wraps. The noise you hear is the spring rotating in the strut shoes....most likly. Wraping them will eliminate this.
I run the same setup...and I have no noise.
Good Luck...

If you don't have the sleeves anymore, just use wire loom. Wire loom is the flexible plastic tubing used to route wiring and keep an electrical install clean.
