My key only fits in passenger door, what gives?

Not sure if all nissans are like this or what. But my key won't open the trunk or drivers side door. It only starts the car and opens the passenger door, which really sucks because my remote entry is really acting up bad and doesn't like to work all the time. I also have a friend with a 92 or 93 Pathfinder and she has the exact same key problem.

I do know that you can open all 4 doors if you stick the key in the passenger side door and twist twice but its still annoying to have to go through all that trouble just to get into my car. thanks

Could it be a possibility that the parts that the key doesn't fit it were replaced? In other words, the driver side door and the trunk weren't from the original car?

its a possibilt that may have been the case because my mom wasn't the original owner. But my friend is the original owner of her passport and its never had those parts replaced.

Well, not openeing the trunk could be that you have a Valet Key. My car came with 2 keys...one opens glove box, all doors, and trunk.

The other only opens the doors and that's it.

Try that key on the glovebox and see if it works. If it doesn't, that explains everything but the driver's side door.

the keys look like the original keys, could be dealer made copies though, but if they were, i would hope they did a better job than this.
