Cooling Fan Question

I noticed this weekend that my cooling fans are coming on even when I start the car cold. The mornings have been in the low 60s here. Is this normal? I would have thought they would come on AFTER the car starts warming up. I checked the factory manual and haven't found any clues yet. Any ideas or input?

If your defroster is on they will start when the engine is cold. Same for the A/C.

Automatic Climate Contol run's the A/C Compressor which calls for the cooling to come on.
