Can somebody PLEASE give me an idea as to what this noise is

I have a pinging noise that seems to be eluding 2 nissan dealerships- both have replaced 2 different parts- an axle and motor mount. This has not fixed the problem. In the morning, when i put the car into reverse, after I shift into reverse, a split second later there is a pinging noise, sometimes very loud. After that, throught the day, the car behaves itself, and the the shifts in and out of park are fine. I can sometimes recreate the problem with limited success, by drving back and forth 20 feet. The car makes the noise after 6 feet or so each way.Its a click going forward, and a thump going backwards. What in the mechanism could be wrong to cause the noises? It is drivng me crazy- It is embarrassing b/c it sounds like my car is falling apart. I am scared that its a time bomb for tranny issues. There does not seem to be any drivability issues YET. I don't know what to do b/c there is no way in hell that I am goingto pay for any after market service when I have Nissan security pluss until 70k. I'm at 40 now.Anybody have any idea? Both dealers say that the car is fine when they check underneith. They simply give me the car back saying that they lubed the chassis. It is driving me mad. Originally this message was moved to the dealership forum, but I am rewriting it in differnent words so it can stay here and get a little more notice. Thanks all!

Is the flex section just that rubber piece that that you can see from the right side fender (the oval bracket?) Mine is intact. Or is it something else?

No, it's the braded metal section of the exhaust just before it hits the cat.

Thanks Tom,
Would this section that you are talking about have any cahce of being shaken during shifting? It just seems that the noise is finiky to certaint situations, unlike your basic rattle, whcih just happens all the time or randomly. Is the flex section something that I can tighten or something- sorry for all the questions
