expensive vs. cheap CAIs

yo i'd like to know why there is such a huge price difference in cold air intakes - for example, a Bomz one is like 80 on ebay but an injen is like 220. are there more parts and/or better quality parts for injen? if so are the differences between these two brands significant enough to influence me to buy the injen?

The Injen and Bomz are different, but that's a different discussion. My opinion: get the Bomz. If you want a K&N, you can get one with it, or just buy it separately.

The onlything better I can see is that the injen looks better and you don't have to drill a hole in your fender to install it. All the intakes do the same stuff and probably will give you the same gains. If you don't wanna pay too much you can make one your self. It might not look like the injen but will give you the same gains maybe more. You only pay for the name!

Take the BOMZ over the Place Racing, it made out of aluminum vs steel and exactly the same style.

Many of the EBay BOMZ & PR knockoffs have lousy filters but thats easily rememdied and still VERY cheap compared to the Place Racing one.

I removed the paint from mine and polished it looks like chrome now and I really like it.

I don't think it matters. Just make sure you have a K&N filter.

K N. Go to Autozone. It's $20, at Autoparts, it's $24.

K&N filters are race proven. Rally drivers will race with K&N filters that are completely covered in mud. K&N's not only catch debris, but they use debris as added filtration.
