dropping a Maxima question

dropping a Maxima question

Never dropped a car before but thinking about doing it on the Max. Instead of buying new springs, can't you just cut a section off the existing ones?

No, dont cut your stock springs, what if you dont like the ride?! your screwed. Just get another set and if you dont like them, just return to your stock springs and sell them...

I have a spare set I'm getting, so if the ride stinks I could put the originals back in, that's why I'm thinking about dropping it like 1/2" or an inch. Not too drastic, but enough to get a better profile.

A half inch won't make much difference IMO, but hey you can give it a shot.

Feel free to cut your stock springs, just watch out for the bad handling which can lead to loss of control while driving due to the bottoming of your suspension. Also watch out for the springs not sitting correctly on the spring seats, and also falling off the spring seats due to not enough spring tension.

Hey thanks for the advice, not gonna cut them, I'll start looking around at spring options instead.
