is there a trick to getting the belts on once you put the udp in?

 

No. You just loosen the two accessory pullies all the way and they should just clear the lips of the pulley--don't forget to loosen the locking bolts for each. If they don't, seat the belt onto the crank pulley fully and then partially on the accessory pulley. Then rotate the crank pulley by the bolt so the rest of the belt seats onto the accessory pulley the rest of the way...
