so its alittle harder than it looks

took the 98 max out to the track, got 100k miles on it and pretty much stock except for a cone filter and springs. anyway, i found out, its alot harder on that wierd *** asphalt. i posted some ****ty 60' of like 2.51 and 2. 57 and traps that started at 88 and went down to 79(buddy in the car). anyway, running 16.8 means that I SUCK.It was my first time at the strip since my one other trip in high school(which i dont talk about)and i am so very impressed with those drivers who post low 15's on that ****. IM either spinning or bogging, but never perfect. anyway, anyone else whos driving is less than perfect or that can offer me solace after this depressing evening would be greatly appreciated
on another note, last night consisted of a high speed run on a curvy country road. now that was some fun stuff. no stupid straight line stuff that i stink at. only phat country roads where me much practiced heel-toe comes in handy. anywhoo, thats my story, whats urs?

16.8 in a 5speed max??? you must be doing something wrong. especially if your gettin 2.5 60' !!!!!???? weird.

Try running your ecu for codes, most likely you have something wrong with your max. A bad knock sensor, which is common on 4th gens, can eat a lot of hp. I know cause I went from a 15.8 to a 15.0 just from changing the knock sensor. What a difference. Make sure you get that checked out asap.

Also, it would help to shift a little quicker. Your not gonna get decent times if you granny shift.lol
