Just curious to see if anybody has done this before and if there were any fitment issues. I've seen some people with 98' maximas have this catback on their car at cardomain.com, so I figured it can be done, even though apexi says it was made only for 94-96 maximas. Which is entirely weird because between 94-96, that's 2 generations... 3rd and 4th gen.

Did a search but couldn't find any info.

So my question is, what did you guys have to modify to make it fit?

If you want your rear O2 sensor in there, you'll have to get an adaptor for it welded in. Otherwise, it bolts right up.

You'll need to cut the ws muffler off and weld in a 1 inch or so piece of pipe in...

is this rear O2 sensor necessary? What happens if I don't put it in? Will I get a light that comes on in my dash? anybody NOT weld their O2 sensor in there? So are you telling me that on the Greddy SP, the Cattman, and the Stillen, their catback exhaust systems come with O2 sensor hole so you can pop the sensor in or somethin?

No, you don't have to. I love the way the muffler looks a little tucked under the bumper, so I left it.

I went without my rear O2 sensor in there for quite a while. I got a CEL, which I couldn't do anything about. However, I got a test pipe from WSP, and they put a O2 sensor insert in it for me...so I didn't have to modify the WS.

Me too, except it's burning off the bottom of the bumper cover on mine as a result.

You could have had the hangers bent so it is not as close to your bumper. I did, but that isn't always necessary.
