Need a new battery. Any opinions please?

I have a small stereo system in the car. I didn't really want to spend the money on the Optima. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Fred

Another vote for Optima... If you don't want to shell out for the Yellow Top, get the Red Top... I saw one at Pep Boys for ~$100. I think you're going to spend $60~$70 for a battery, so why not grab the Optima.. IMHO..

I vote for a dry cell Exide or an Optima. I've not had any problems w/ either battery. Currently, the Exide is in my Maxima and the Red Top is sitting in my garage. I'm unsure which is more expensive though.

Sounds like your don't have "mad bumps" in your ride. Tally up another for the Optima Red Top. They are an awesome battery! Go yellow if you plan on upgrading your sound system in the future.

I have a couple of amps in my car currently with no plans to go any bigger. I have a 200.4 Rockford Fosgate Punch and a 160.2 Rockford Fosgate Punch. If I am only talking abou saving $30. I would just get the Optima. I just thought maybe someone knew of a less expensive battery with a great reputation.
