Shaving the Maxima on the Trunk

I was curious if i take that MAXIMA off the trunk, is it going to be noticable, since the rest of the paint has been beaten by the sun/weather for 7 years. If anyone has done it can you let me know if it requires a paint job or if it screws it up

thanks jeff

definity shave it all, its really easy just heat em up with a hairdryer and then "saw" it off with floss.

You'll see a bit of an outline at first. But after a couple of washes and waxes, it's almost totally gone.

heatgun, but be real carefull with one of these, you can bubble your paint if your not carefull. Id stick with the hairdryer on a warm sunny day.

I used a guitar string (high E)insted of floss. Then I rubbed Oops all over the remaining glue. If you are driving behind me at night the letters are still visable. I recomend a buff/detail job if this happens. But it looks hot anyway. Oh try just shaving the burger first to see if you like that.

I shaved mine and the outline is qiute visible especially upclose. But from afar, you can barely notice it. I peeled the letters off without any hair dryer. After I peeld them off the double sided tape was still on it so I used sticker remover to take off the double sided tape.

I have a 96 max and shaved my trunk lettering off about 8 months ago with floss and goo off. I didnt use a hair dryer or heat gun... They came off easily and I can't tell where the letters used to be. Check my homepage for pics...

i used a heat gun and still had sum of the double sided tape and i used 3 or 4 different things. the best was 3M adhesive remover. this stuff worked miracles. if u are unlucky with removing the tapwe use this. but i do too still have the letter ghosts.
